Blissful photography by Tim Walker

Love love love the british photographer Tim Walker. I went to see his exhibition in August at the Design Museum in London. Having previously seen his work in Vogue, W and Harpers Bazaar, I was captured by the sensitiveness and emotion in his pictures.

His style is a mixture of surrealistic bliss combined with high fashion - all encapsulated in a setting of a dream like childhood memory.

Check out his portfolio on: http://www.thomastreuhaft.com/Tim_Walker/tw.html

Enjoy.

Leon Bakst

One of the fashion history´s most influental fashion illustrators; Leon Bakst seems to be a main inspirations to designers like Prada this season. The second illustration above was published in Vogue during the the art/fashion area of "Orientalism" that had its peak in the late twenties. This was the time when artist started to travel to Asia and Africa and brought back paintings that inspired the fashion world and their artists.

All bangled up.

Loving the bangles. I spotted the trend on the dance floor last year on vacation - love the combination of studs and leather. For Spring/Summer - 09, Burberry had a more organic take on the trend, whilst Alberta Ferretti is more into the 80´s plastic era (do we really want to go there??)

Anyways - it seems we can safe and sound stack up for winter - we will need all the bangles we can for this summer.

Why I prefer female designers

Stellas panties-box would make that terrible time at morning so much sweeter. I love when designers think about their clients needs and everyday problems, and solve them in a beautiful way. This is why in general; I prefer female designers. They usually have a better understanding of womens daily life. We need to be productive, be in ten different places per day but still, we want to look fabulous.

Stella should be an inspiration to to others designers when it comes to responding to consumer demand. In the future, consumer power will influence fashion more than Karl Lagerfeld is doing today.

I am.

My name is Anneli Willis and Im 23 years old from Oslo, Norway - studying in my last year for Fashion Marketing & Communication, at IED in Barcelona.

My aspiration for the future is to either work within the editorial section of a fashion magazine, or the visual merchandising field of a fashion company. Although my study is aimed within the marketing and communications aspect - I´m more passionate about the creative side of fashion, production process, writing and styling.

This summer, I was lucky enough to get an internship at one of my favorite designers, Stella McCartney. I worked at their headquarters in London, within the communication department. It was an amazing experience - met so many lovely and interesting people. It was very tough though, but it has sure prepared me for the future! The highlight of the 3-month placement was working at Paris for the Fashion Week. It would be an understatement to say beyond fabolous (I will post pictures and videos).

Although this blog might not satisfy you intellectually - the core focus is on fashion, and our aim is to supply all you fashionistas with the latest information on new designs, fashion objects, exhibitions, news, likes and dislikes and my personal experience as a fashion intern, ++more.

Key elements for this blog: global designs and happenings, fashion with high quality and cultural heritage - combined with the dramatic flair of fashionable innovation with deep routed quality standards and values.

Enjoy,

A skin-deep goodmorning!

My name is Camilla, I am 21 years old and study "Fashion Marketing & Communication" at IED Barcelona. (http://www.ied.es/) This is a Bachelor-degree aiming to educate future fashion professionals in how to work with fashion as a business. I am now doing my last year of total three years.

During my education I have done a internship at a showroom (where I represented the firm at Fashion Week) been a pr-assistant,worked in fashion/vintage shops, been a beauty consultant and worked with Visual Merchandising for a departmentstore. I am born in Stockholm, Sweden, but I have lived in Barcelona since 2006.

After studying fashion, art, stylism, journalism etc for more than 2,5 years I hope I can transmit a message to you and inspire some of you towards a different perspective of what we wear and why. This could include; Fashion history, inspiration pictures, discussions about beauty and how far we are willing to go to improve ourselves. Of course I will post daily outfits and wishlists too, I know that is what most of you want to see.

I hope you will enjoy reading and participating in this project. Because just like you; we devoted our education and life to this loved and hated subject; fashion.

What would you like to see in this part of the blog?

Love,

Camilla
